Our process at Fair Design Studio was developed under the premise that interior design should not be complicated. We believe trust goes both ways in a business. Therefore, the more transparent we can be with you, our clients, the more comfortable you can be with us and allow for a smooth design process. Our approach is broken into 7 steps. Everyone begins with the free! Initial Call, your designer will then guide you through each of the remaining steps.

Step 1- Initial Call

Step 3 - Design Path Selection

Time: During Consultation

You will be guided down a design path by your Interior Designer. Path options include your level of involvement in your project.

Step 4: Design Concept

Time: 2-3 weeks for completion

The purpose of a Design Concept is to review and consolidate all of the information shared during the Consultation into a visual representation of the clients unique style. A design board presentation will be given to ensure that the designer has grasped the full extent of the project. Once approved, the Design Contract is signed by both parties.

Step 5: Selection Presentation

Time: 3-6 weeks for completion

Once the Design Concept is finalized, the Selection process begins. We offer 3 levels of service, depending on your desired level of involvement. The Selections process may take several weeks depending on the project size. Once these Selections are chosen a meeting will be set up to present and review all items.

Step 6: Implementation

Selections are complete and its time for some changes to start taking place! We recommend if your kitchen, all bathrooms, master bedroom, or any large main areas will be under construction that you relocate during this process. Despite taking as many precautions as possible, there will be large amounts of construction dust and tradespeople in and out of your home. Depending on your Project Agreement terms we will be there every step of the way, ensuring that this process proceeds smoothly.

Step 7: Project Completion

Finally, we celebrate your beautiful home! We will conduct a final walk-through of the home with you and any involved parties to ensure everything is perfect.

Hi! My name is Rachel Tague, owner and principal designer of FAIR Design. I grew up in the enormous city of Houston, TX. It’s an incredible city filled with amazing art, culture, and especially food. If you haven’t toured their many museums I highly recommend just about all of them. 

I have lived in and around Austin for the last 10 years, experiencing first hand the up-and-coming north side, the vibrant south side, and the beautiful countryside in turn over the years. The local art scene is vast and the food options offer a unique blend of cultures. 

I received my Bachelors in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Austin and spent the subsequent 6 years working for two incredible, award winning Interior Design firms in Austin. This time allowed me to truly hone my skills at understanding and conveying each clients unique style. 

Living between the Austin and San Antonio city limits has given me a front row seat to the growth happening in this area, especially along the I-35 corridor. This expansion has inspired me to create Fair Designs, which is growing alongside these evolving communities. The goal of this company is to better understand and cater to those who live outside of the large bustling city centers.
